Description
I’m selling my Gort. This is a full size fiberglass replica of the Gort robot who stood guard of Klaatu’s spacecraft in the movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still". As you can see, he needs a paint job. Currently, he is wearing white primer with grey primer accents, not too respectable for a guy like this… He looks his best in Chrysler Silver automotive paint. If you are not able to paint him any competent auto body shop can do it for you. Gort stands over 8 feet tall. He is very impressive. His head is a loose piece and you can position it as you please. Also, his visor is a loose piece (tacked in place for the pictures) so with a little work you can make it open and close, or simply glue it in place as shown. This Gort is being sold as is, as it is shown. He will not be shipped it until full payment has been received and that must be within 10 days of the end of the auction. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 payable through Paypal is to be paid at the end of this auction. The balance of your payment must be made with either US Postal money orders or a Cashier’s Check. I will contact you at the end of the auction to make arrangements. This Gort weighs under 50 lbs. Shipping him to you will require a wood crate. You will need to arrange a freight company to pick him up and deliver him to you. UPS, Fed EX, DHL, and the others will not do this for you, it is too big for them to handle. You will be responsible for all shipping cost. To get an estimated price from a freight company figure on shipping a 120 lb. 4 x 8 x 15” crate from Palm Bay, FL.,zip code 32907. If you are close by and would prefer to pick him up I will be happy to help you. With the current cost of fuel it could easily save you many dollars to come pick him up. I will assist you any way I can, however, the buyer will be responsible for the cost for the crate and if I need to deliver him to a local freight company. I estimate the crate will cost under $100.00. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
