New Arrivals All Auctions Rare Book Auctions Original Poster Auctions Title: Exorcist II: The Heretic [Original Screenplay]. Author: GOODHART, William and Rospo Pallenberg. Studio: Warner Brothers Script Dated: July 26, 1976 Edition: First edition An original screenplay by William Goodhart and Rospo Pallenberg, based on the characters created by William Peter Blatty. Noted on the title page as "Revised" and dated July 26, 1976. Pages [numbered [1]-107] are primarily pink in color and dated 07/26/76, with some yellow and blue revision pages dated 08/02/76 and 08/09/76, respectively. Additionally, there is an uncollated set of nine green revision pages dated 09/21/76. All pages measure 8.5" x 11" in size and are three-hole punched and bound with metal pins in red, heavy stock paper covers. The covers are typical Warner Brothers studio issue from this period, with title and company information on the front cover. Writer Rospo Pallenberg contributed to this draft but did not share in the final screenplay credit. He had worked numerous times with director John Boorman, first as a creative associate on 1972's "Deiverance" and later as (screenplay) writer on "Excalibur" (1981), "The Emerald Forest" (1985) and the forthcoming Boorman release, "Memoirs of Hadrian" (2010). Released by Warner Brothers in 1977, "Exorcist: The Heretic" was directed by John Boorman, who produced with Richard Lederer. It starred Linda Blair, Richard Burton, Louise Fletcher, Max von Sydow, Paul Henreid, James Earl Jones and Ned Beatty. Very nice condition overall with only light wear, including a slight crease on rear cover, and red ink underlining to a few descriptions that relate to makeup.
